Events & the Planner

THE PLANNER

The planner is an invaluable tool: with it you can schedule important events like dentist appointments and battles to the death for territory. It consists of a 7x7 grid. There are seven columns for each day of the week and seven rows for each time “block”. A block is basically three hours real time. When an NPC asks you if you want to chill during the afternoon on Wednesday, that means you should reserve block 3 on that day. Characters can only access blocks 1-5 initially.

EVENTS

An event is anything you are doing during a particular time block, if it isn’t blank (blank spaces are referred to as “downtime”). Events can be divided into two groups based on content: missions and activities. A mission is when you are doing something to advance your position in the game, whereas an activity is optional and usually not much more than hanging out with people. Simply put, missions are the ones where you know you’ll be fighting someone. If a fight breaks out during an activity, it is called a random encounter. Both missions and activities earn you XP.
